Independent MCAD & PLM Consultancies Form Strategic Alliance

Respected independent PLM consultants, Neil Thomas (Calm Water Consulting), Rick Simpson & Martin Hockenhull (Evo Design Solutions) and Tola Dawodu (pxmworks) are pleased to announce the formation of a new strategic alliance. To be called "Convergent", the new group will offer a wide range of cost effective solutions addressing a wide range of MCAD/PLM consulting, training and design needs.

Convergent is a collection of domain experts, providing complementary services in the use and implementation of CAD, PLM and related systems to industry with capabilities spanning the entire Product Development Lifecycle.

Skilled in utilising tools from many PLM and MCAD vendors and with clients in Aerospace & Defence, Automotive, Consumer Products and Medical Engineering, Convergent believe that the only true return on investment in high-end CAD/PLM comes with frequent engagement, assessment and improvement of the ongoing Design/PLM process.

Convergent's member companies operate throughout the whole of Europe, verging into the Middle East and are prepared to travel wherever the customers are. The member companies recognise that many of today's customers are globally dispersed but need a commonality of methodology, approach and system architecture. The best way to achieve that aim is to have the same people implementing that requirement across the entire geography of the enterprise, reducing the possibility of misunderstanding or misinterpretation.

Commented Convergent spokesman, Neil Thomas: "We aim to bring a new approach to enabling our customers to get best value from their investment in CAD, PLM/PDM and related systems. The majority of our member consultants have extensive vendor as well as industrial experience and are thus well placed to understand where Convergent can offer best value when compared with vendors and other consulting groups and companies. The Convergent partnership, with an average of 18 years industrial and 12 years specialist PLM/MCAD experience in both vendor and industry sectors, aim to assist customers in achieving the best ROI with value-add, real world experience and expertise. Being a group of independents, we are cost effective, agile and responsive, yet have the organisation and capability of a much larger enterprise."
